The mission of the Rescue Union School District Food Services Program is to enhance the health, well-being and educational potential of children by ensuring their access to nutritious meals. The importance of school meals and their contribution to children’s ability to learn are becoming more apparent. Research has shown that there is a crucial relationship between healthy nutrition and learning. The major function of the food and nutrition program is to provide an attractive, appetizing and nutritious lunch for everyone in the school community each day.
The Rescue Union School District participates in the National School Lunch Program. As a participant, the district receives USDA commodities and cash reimbursement for each student lunch served. Families who meet the requirements may submit a confidential application for free or reduced price lunches.
